Thirupparsilachiramam/Thiruvasi is one of the 275 Thevara Shivasthalam located in Thiruvasi, Thiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu.  In this temple Lord Shiva worshipped in the form of self-manifested Linga.

Significance – Thiru Gnana Samabandhar visited many scared temples of Lord Shiva and arrived in this temple.  Meanwhile, the King who was ruled this city had daughter, she was seriously ill with the severe breathing difficulties.  She was treated by several scholars but the ill health remained the same.  Finally, the distressed King  left his hope and surrendered to Lord.  During this period, Sambandhar paid a visit to this place was received with utmost reverence by the King and explained the pathetic state of his daughter.  Sambandhar earnestly prayed to Lord and sang praising his glories, miraculously the daughter of the King fully recovered from the illness.  It is believed that worship of Lord Shiva in this temple would cure all kinds of illnesses.
 
 
Sundarar earnestly prayed to Lord Shiva for golden coins.  He passionately sang praising his glories; Lord was pleased at the devotion of Sundarar and appeared before him and handed a bundle of golden coins to Sundarar.  Sundarar was uncertain about the purity of the golden coins.  Soon, there appeared two merchants stated that they are capable to verify the purity of the gold, after examining the gold the merchants affirmed the purity of the same and disappeared from the sight.  Sundarar realized that it was none other than Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu appeared in the form of innocent merchants.  Hence the presiding deity has got the name ‘Maatruraivaradar’.
 
 
This temple remains open from 6.30AM to 11.30 PM in the morning and 4.30PM to 8.00 PM in the evenings.

Thiru Eechengoimalai is one of the 275 Thevara Shivasthalam of Lord Shiva located in Thottiyam, Thiruchirappali, Tamil Nadu.  This is one of the significant temple situated at the top of the hill, one has to cross 500 flights of steps to reach the main temple.  In this temple Lord Marakathachaleswarar worshipped in the form of a Marakatha Linga/Emerald Linga.
 
 
Presiding deity – Thiru Marakathachaleswarar/Marakathachalar/Achaleswarar with his consort Goddess Sri Marakathavalli Thayar
 
Mangalasasanam – Thiru Gnana Sambandhar
Tamil Poet Nakeerar sang praising the glories of Lord Marakathachaleswarar in this temple.
 
 
Theertham – Amrutha Theertham
 
 
Significance – Sage Agastya assumed the form of fly and worshipped Lord Shiva on the top of the hill.  Hence this place has got its name Eechengoimalai.
 
 
Goddess Sri Parvathi underwent severe austerities and worshipped Lord Shiva on this sacred hill.  Thus, this place has the name Shivashakthimalai.

Worship of Lord Shiva at Thiru Kadambathurai in the morning, Thiruvatpoki in the afternoon and Lord Marakathachaleswarar at Thiru Eechengoimalai in the evening would provide abundance of devoutness. 
 
 
This temple remains open from 7.00AM to 12.00 PM in the morning and 4 .00 PM to 7.00PM in the evenings.

Thirunellikka/Nellivanam/Panchakoodapuram/Thirunellikkaval/Amlavanam/Mangalapuram/Sarvothamapuram, Panchatheerthapuram is one of the 275 Thevara Shivasthalam of Lord Shiva located in Thirunellikaval, Thiruvanur District, Tamil Nadu.  The temple inscriptions reveal the existence of this temple from the period of Chozha regime.  This is one of the prominent temples of Lord Shiva  by King  Rajaraja Chozha famous for its stunning architectural and murals.  In this temple Lord Shiva worshipped in the form of a self-manifested Linga.

The legend has that the divine trees of Parijatham, Karpakam, Santhanam, Harisanthanam and Madharam situated in the world of deities were capable to provide any boons to the worshipper.  Therefore, they became too proud of their abilities and forgot to pay reverence to Sage Durvassa who paid a visit to Devaloka.  Sage Durvassa was too disturbed at the arrogance of these divine trees and cursed them to take birth on Earth; consequently these divine trees took birth as a gooseberry which carries bitter fruits.  Lord Shiva appeared as a Linga under this tree and these five divine trees were served the Lord and eventually relieved from their curses. Earlier, this place was a Mangrove of gooseberries therefore the presiding deity assumed the name ‘Nellivananathar’. 
 
 
This temple remains open from 6.30 from 12.00 AM in the morning and 4.30 PM to 8.30 PM in the evenings.

Sri Goswami Tulasi Das was born to a pious Sarayuparin Brahmin couple Hulsi Devi and Atmaram Dubey 0n a Shravan Shukla Paksha Sapthami  day in the year 1532 (16th Century) in Rajapur which is 200km east of Allahabad,  in Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh.   Its believed that Sri Goswami Tulsidas was an incarnation of Maharishi Valmiki, composer of the great epic ‘ Srimad Ramayanam’.   ‘Sri Ramacharita Manas’ was written by Sant Tulsidas. 
 
 
As Sri Goswami Tulsidas was born in an inauspicious day of Shravan Shukla Paksha Saptami, there was an old belief existed in those days that the child born on this day would bring unexpected death to it parents.   The parents of Tulsidas were very poor, did not find any means to conduct the ‘Namakaran’/naming ceremony of the child.  Shortly, his mother passed away and his father abandoned the baby due to his irrational beliefs.    The baby boy was brought up by Chuniya, the female servant of Hulsa, till the age of five.  After the death of his foster mother Chuniya, unfortunate Tulsidas continued to wander here and there for food and occasionally taking shelter in a Hanuman Temple.
