Varaha Avatharam – Srimad Narayaneeyam / Srimad Bhagavatham !! Lyrics & Its Meaning

Jai Sriman Narayana !!

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Swayambhuva Manu who was immersed in the function of creation, noticed that the Mother Earth has submerged in the water, although there was no deluge.  Swayambhuva Manu hurried to Sathyaloka/Brahma Loka where Lord Brahma, the creator along with the Rishis and Sages were absorbed in the veneration of your lotus feet.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Swayambhuva Manu informed the pitiable state of Mother Earth to Lord Brahma/Sarojabhava and the pathetic condition of living beings gone under the water.  Instantly, Lord Brahma appealed to you for a way out of the catastrophe and a place to secure the living beings created.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Lord Brahma took refuge at your lotus feet and narrated about the disaster and his helplessness to you.  At this moment, you have emerged out as a tiny boar from the nostrils of Lord Brahma.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The tiny boar which has the size of thumb, gradually grown into the size of an elephant. Shortly, Lord Brahma and his Manasaputhras were amazed to witness your colossal form as wild boar in the sky.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Lord Brahma was wondered to see the glorious boar that was set off from his nostril.  As he was trying to recollect understood that it was your act of illusion.  Oh! Supreme Lord, You have assumed the giant mountain sized form of boar and roared boisterously.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, listening to the uncontrollable roar of the wild boar, the sages and Rishis of Janaloka, Thapaloka and Brahma Loka were eulogized your glories.  Oh! Supreme Lord, you were pleased at the devotion of the Sages and once again you have assumed mammoth sized boar and plunged into the sea with a loud roar.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, The Rishis & Sages were praised your glorious form in a state of ecstasy, the wild boar violently shuddered its reddish hair, raised its tail, sharp snout pointing downwards and with the vicious huge eyes dived through the thickened clouds.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, you have entered into the ocean of wild creatures creating tumultuous waves.  The wild creatures of netherworld were horrified while you were producing boisterous roar and searching for Mother Earth.

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, you have found the Mother Earth concealed on the bottom of Rasathala by the wicked demon, you have hurried to her in your marvelous form of wild boar and lifted her effortlessly with your huge tusks.  The demons that were dashed towards you were overlooked by you.  Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, Oh! Vibho, All that had happened was not a mere sport to you?

Oh! Supreme Lord Guruvayurappa, You have effortlessly lifted Mother Earth from the turbulence of the ocean.  On your appearance as gigantic wild boar, Mother Earth was like a blade of grass wedged on the tip of your tusk.  Oh! Kreeda Varahapureeshwara, I earnestly pray to protect us from chronic illnesses.
